BGMI 4.6 Update Release Date, Kiaraa Launch Date and New Features

BGMI 4.6 Update Release Date, Kiaraa Launch Date and New Features

BATTLEGROUNDS MOBILE INDIA (BGMI) is set to receive its 4.6 update on September 16, 2026, bringing the new Midnight Hunters theme mode and other content to the game. But players waiting specifically for Kiaraa will have to wait longer: KRAFTON India says the new character will become available from October 8.

Kiaraa is an original in-game character created entirely by KRAFTON India’s in-house art team for Indian BGMI players. She is being introduced as part of a broader character-driven experience rather than as a standalone cosmetic, with her own origin story, location on Erangel, and gameplay encounter.

The distinction between the two dates is important. September 16 is the BGMI 4.6 update date, while October 8 is Kiaraa’s availability date.

When does the BGMI 4.6 update release?

KRAFTON India has confirmed September 16, 2026, as the release date for BGMI 4.6.

The update’s headline feature is Midnight Hunters, a supernatural-themed mode that changes parts of Erangel while retaining the map’s basic layout. The mode is scheduled to run through November 16.

Several Erangel locations, including Rozhok, Mylta, Quarry and Gatka, are being given vampire-themed treatment. Players will also encounter creatures such as Bloodwalkers, Nightbats, and the Vampire Elder.

The update also introduces gameplay mechanics and items connected to the Midnight Hunters theme.

Ocean Odyssey is scheduled to return later in the update cycle, beginning September 30.

When is Kiaraa coming to BGMI?

Kiaraa will go live on October 8, 2026.

KRAFTON India has positioned Kiaraa as a character created specifically for the Indian player base. The company’s own description says she was developed entirely by its in-house art team in India.

That makes Kiaraa different from many of BGMI’s earlier collaborations and licensed additions. The character has been designed with an original identity and a larger in-game setting around her.

KRAFTON India’s Shyam Deshpande said the character builds on the work started with Anamika, which the company introduced in 2025.

Kiaraa gets her own story and Erangel location

Kiaraa is being introduced with an original backstory and a dedicated location on Erangel.

The new location is a Diwali-themed Bazaar featuring Indian-inspired visual elements. It is not simply a decorative addition. The Bazaar also serves as the setting for Kiaraa’s boss encounter.

A peacock motif runs through Kiaraa’s visual identity, including elements connected to the Bazaar and her themed items.

The approach gives the character a more integrated role within BGMI. Instead of appearing only through a cosmetic reward or character spin, Kiaraa is connected to a location, story, and gameplay encounter.

How does Kiaraa’s boss battle work?

The Bazaar will host a boss encounter known as Kiaraa’s Test.

Players can activate four peacock-shaped lamps in the Bazaar courtyard to trigger the encounter. Once the required activation points are completed, Kiaraa appears, and the Boss Fight Zone becomes active.

Kiaraa uses a bow during the encounter, including ranged attacks and attacks that strike areas from above.

Squads that defeat the boss can receive in-game rewards.

The boss fight therefore forms part of the gameplay surrounding Kiaraa rather than being a separate promotional element.

Kiaraa Nakshatra Collection coming to BGMI

KRAFTON India is also launching the Kiaraa Nakshatra Collection alongside the character.

The collection includes a Kiaraa Nakshatra Set as well as themed items such as the Divine Peacock Glider, Divine Radiance SCAR-L, Divine Chariot Buggy, Divine Edge Machete, and Arrow Rain Emote.

The character rollout is also connected to Kiaraa Arena challenges, an Exchange Center, and daily-login rewards.

These additions give players several ways to interact with the character beyond the main boss encounter.

BGMI gets an India-specific Prize Path

The Kiaraa rollout also coincides with BGMI’s first Prize Path created specifically for India.

The Diwali Prize Path is scheduled to run from October 22 through November 15 and will contain 20 levels. Rewards include the Revel 01 Set and Diwali Gold Set.

The event adds another India-specific element to the 4.6 content cycle as KRAFTON India prepares seasonal content around Diwali.

Kiaraa is not BGMI’s first original Indian character

The “first original character” description needs some context.

KRAFTON India introduced Anamika in 2025 as its first original character IP created in India. Kiaraa follows that initiative but expands the concept by giving the character an integrated story, a dedicated Erangel location, a boss battle, and a larger collection of related content.

KRAFTON India has therefore described Kiaraa as a further step in developing original content specifically for Indian players.

What can BGMI players expect next?

The immediate milestone is the BGMI 4.6 rollout on September 16, with Midnight Hunters becoming part of the game’s new content cycle.

Kiaraa’s own launch follows on October 8, while the Diwali Prize Path is scheduled for October 22.

For players primarily interested in Kiaraa, installing the 4.6 update on September 16 does not mean the character will be immediately available. Her content has a separate October 8 launch date.

KRAFTON India’s rollout also shows a broader effort to build original India-focused content inside BGMI, with Kiaraa combining character design, storytelling, a dedicated map location and gameplay into one package.

The next key date for players watching the character is therefore October 8, 2026, when Kiaraa is scheduled to become available in BGMI.
