Amitabh Bachchan and Badshah Evacuated as Fire Disrupts Pati Patni Aur Panga 2 Set
MUMBAI: A fire broke out at a temporary setup being used for Pati Patni Aur Panga 2 at Film City in Goregaon East on October 5, forcing the evacuation of nearby television sets after smoke spread across the area. Amitabh Bachchan and rapper Badshah were among those who had to leave the adjoining sets of Kaun Banega Crorepati and Hustle 5. No injuries were reported.
The Pati Patni Aur Panga 2 Fire began at about 4 p.m. on the outer shade of a temporary structure behind Prime Focus Studio. The blaze was brought under control by the Mumbai Fire Brigade, while shooting on nearby productions was temporarily halted.
Smoke Reaches KBC And Hustle 5 Sets
The incident became more serious when smoke moved towards the adjoining sets. Amitabh Bachchan was shooting for Kaun Banega Crorepati at the time and was taken outside along with the crew as a safety measure.
Badshah, who was on the Hustle Season 5 set, was also evacuated. The Amitabh Bachchan Evacuated incident disrupted production on both shows, with reports indicating that shooting remained stopped for around an hour and a half.
Importantly, no shooting was scheduled on the Pati Patni Aur Panga 2 set when the fire broke out. That meant no actors or crew members were present at the affected setup at the time. Indian Express reported that the incident nevertheless prompted renewed concerns about safety arrangements at Film City.
Cine Workers’ Body Seeks FIR And Inquiry
The All Indian Cine Workers Association has called for a formal investigation into the incident and demanded legal action over what it described as alleged safety lapses.
The association has sought an FIR against the channel, producer and production house and has also called for action concerning Film City management. These are demands from the workers’ body and do not establish that negligence has been legally proven.
The Pati Patni Aur Panga 2 Fire has therefore raised questions about fire-prevention measures at temporary production structures, particularly because several television shoots operate in close proximity at Film City.
No Injuries Reported In Film City Fire
Despite the disruption, there were no reported casualties or injuries from the incident. The Amitabh Bachchan Evacuated episode ended with the actor and other personnel safely leaving the affected area as smoke spread towards the neighbouring sets.
The Pati Patni Aur Panga 2 Fire also temporarily affected the Hustle 5 finale and Kaun Banega Crorepati production. The incident is now expected to face closer scrutiny following the AICWA’s demand for an inquiry and stronger fire-safety checks at shooting locations.
