Car Chased and Hit Gurugram Biker After She Asked It to Keep Distance, She Says
A woman motorcyclist was injured after a car allegedly followed her and collided with her sports bike on Gurugram’s Golf Course Road, an incident that was captured on a camera mounted on her motorcycle.
The rider, who identifies herself as Sia on social media, said the occupants of the car had been following her and members of her biking group during a ride on Sunday. She alleged that the occupants became aggressive after she asked them to maintain a safe distance.
Gurugram Police has acknowledged the video and asked Sia to file a formal complaint so that the allegations can be investigated.
Woman Says Car Followed Her Group
Sia was riding an Aprilia RS 457 with other bikers when the incident occurred on Golf Course Road, according to her account and multiple reports published on Monday.
She said the car began following the group soon after their ride started. According to her, the occupants appeared intoxicated and asked her to stop after she told them to keep their distance.
Sia said she continued riding rather than pulling over. A friend riding behind her also tried to prevent the car from coming alongside her motorcycle.
The car allegedly continued following her before the driver attempted to move in front of the bike. The motorcycle was struck in the process, throwing Sia onto the road.
The motorcycle was dragged for a short distance before the car left the scene.
The incident was recorded by an action camera fitted to Sia’s motorcycle, providing footage of the collision and its aftermath.
Friend Chased the Car
After the crash, one of Sia’s fellow riders followed the car and managed to catch up with it at a traffic signal.
According to Sia’s account, her friend confronted the driver and told him that the collision was his fault. The driver denied responsibility and drove away when the signal changed.
Sia later shared details of the vehicle, including its registration number and the name of the registered owner, and appealed to Gurugram Police to take action.
She also said the incident left her feeling unsafe on the city’s roads.
“I have nothing to say, but today I felt unsafe on Gurugram roads. People like these aren’t afraid of hitting people and running away,” she said in a video shared online.
Police Ask Rider to File Complaint
Gurugram Police has said it has seen the video and contacted Sia through Instagram.
Police spokesperson ASI Sandeep Kumar told The Indian Express that the rider had been asked to come forward and file a formal complaint so an investigation could begin into the specific allegations.
As of Monday morning, there was no publicly confirmed information indicating that the driver had been arrested or that an FIR had been registered in the case.
That distinction is important because much of the information currently circulating online comes from the rider’s account and the video she posted. The allegation that the occupants were intoxicated, as well as the claim that the vehicle deliberately struck the motorcycle, has not been independently established by police.
Rider Sustained Injuries
Sia was injured when she was thrown from the motorcycle. Fellow riders said her protective riding equipment helped prevent more serious injuries.
The footage shows the force of the collision and the motorcycle being dragged along the road, according to reports that reviewed the video.
The incident has since spread widely across social media, with users tagging Gurugram Police, Gurugram Traffic Police and Haryana Police and calling for action against the driver.

Investigation Now Depends on Formal Complaint
For now, the police response remains at the stage of seeking a formal complaint from the rider.
Once a complaint is filed, investigators can examine the motorcycle-camera footage, vehicle registration details and other available evidence to establish what happened and identify the person who was driving at the time.
The video provides a potentially important record of the incident, but questions about the driver’s intent, the occupants’ condition and the circumstances leading to the collision still require investigation.
The case also comes amid continuing concerns among motorists and two-wheeler riders about aggressive driving and road-rage incidents on busy Gurugram roads.
For Sia, the immediate issue is more straightforward: she wants the driver who allegedly followed and struck her to be held accountable.
The investigation is expected to clarify the circumstances of the collision if a formal complaint is filed.
