Hyderabad Man, 27, Dies in Massachusetts 17 Days After Wedding

Hyderabad Man Dies in US 17 Days After Marriage, Cause Unknown

A 27-year-old man from Hyderabad’s Santoshnagar died in Lowell, Massachusetts, on September 14, just 17 days after he married in Texas. The circumstances surrounding his death have not been publicly established, while his family is seeking assistance to bring his remains back to India.

The man was identified as Mohammed Jaber Hussain. According to reports citing his family, Hussain was found dead while asleep at his residence in Lowell.

Hussain had moved to the United States in 2021 for higher studies. He pursued a master’s degree in civil engineering in Connecticut and later began working in Lowell, Massachusetts.

He had married in Texas on August 28

Hussain married in Texas on August 28, according to details his family reported. He subsequently returned to Lowell.

His death came 17 days after the wedding, on September 14.

The timing of the death has drawn attention because of how recently he had married. Still, there is currently no verified information linking the death to his marriage or establishing any particular cause.

Reports quoting his father, Zakir, said Hussain spoke to his mother by phone at around 8 a.m. on September 14 and appeared to be fine. Later that day, his wife informed the family that he had died while sleeping.

The cause of death remains unknown.

The family has not been able to establish the precise cause of Hussain’s death. His father told Siasat.com that he was unsure what had caused his son’s sudden death.

Reports published so far do not provide a confirmed medical or official finding explaining why Hussain died.

That distinction is important. While some reports describe the death as sudden or unexpected, there is no verified evidence in the available reporting to establish a specific medical condition, accident,t or other cause.

Family seeks help to bring remains to Hyderabad.

Following Hussain’s death, his parents approached Majlis Bachao Tehreek (MBT) spokesperson Amjed Ullah Khan for assistance.

Khan publicly appealed to External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar to help the family coordinate with Indian diplomatic authorities and the US authorities for the repatriation of Hussain’s remains.

The appeal says the family is facing financial difficulties and is seeking assistance with the process and expenses involved in bringing Hussain’s remains back to Hyderabad.

Khan’s appeal called for coordination through the Indian Embassy in Washington or the Consulate General of India in New York.

Family waits for answers.

Hussain’s parents are also seeking clarity about what happened in Lowell.

According to the family account reported by Siasat.com, Hussain had spoken to his mother on the morning of his death before the family was informed several hours later that he had died. His father has also been trying to obtain a visa to travel to the United States.

At present, publicly available reports do not establish a confirmed cause of death or indicate that authorities have concluded that foul play was involved.

The immediate concern for the family is the repatriation of Hussain’s remains to Hyderabad so that his final rites can be performed.

The case remains a developing story, and further information from US authorities, medical officials,s or Indian diplomatic authorities could clarify the circumstances of his death and the arrangements for returning his remains.
