Toxic Box Office Collection Day 4: India Net Nears Rs.180 Crore
Yash’s Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups continued its theatrical run on Saturday, with live box-office tracking putting its India net collection at ₹180.08 crore after four days, as of 8:03 p.m. IST on August 29.
According to Sacnilk’s latest live update, the film had added ₹14.13 crore net on Day 4 at that point. The figure is not final and remains subject to revision as Saturday’s late-evening and night shows are counted.
The film opened in cinemas on August 26 and is directed by Geetu Mohandas. Yash leads the cast, alongside Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria and Rukmini Vasanth. The Central Board of Film Certification lists the film as a Kannada-language production with an A certificate and a certified length of 194.12 metres.
Toxic Day 4 collection so far
The latest live tracking puts Toxic at ₹14.13 crore net for Saturday so far, taking its India net total to ₹180.08 crore.
The first three days had produced a substantial opening followed by declines. Sacnilk’s Day 3 figures put the film’s India net total at ₹165.95 crore, after a Day 1 collection of ₹101.10 crore, ₹37.65 crore on Day 2 and ₹27.20 crore on Day 3.
That gives the film the following reported India net trajectory:
| Day | India net collection |
|---|---|
| Day 1 — Wednesday | ₹101.10 crore |
| Day 2 — Thursday | ₹37.65 crore |
| Day 3 — Friday | ₹27.20 crore |
| Day 4 — Saturday* | ₹14.13 crore |
| Total | ₹180.08 crore |
*Day 4 figure is live and not final.
The Saturday figure should therefore not be treated as the completed collection for the day. Live box-office trackers can change considerably as more shows report, particularly during evening and night screenings.
A strong opening followed by a slowdown
Toxic began its theatrical run with a ₹101.10 crore India net opening day according to Sacnilk’s tracking. The film then fell to ₹37.65 crore on Thursday before collecting ₹27.20 crore on Friday.
The sharpest drop came after its opening day, although Friday’s decline was considerably smaller than the Day 2 fall.
Other box-office trackers have reported different figures because they use different methodologies and update schedules. For example, Bollywood Hungama’s live tracker listed substantially lower India figures than Sacnilk for the first three days.
For that reason, the ₹180.08 crore figure should be treated specifically as Sacnilk’s live India net estimate, rather than an independently audited final figure.
Hindi version crosses ₹100 crore
The Hindi version has become an important contributor to the film’s domestic run. Sacnilk’s Day 4 tracking reported that the Hindi version had crossed the ₹100 crore net mark in India, while the Kannada version continued to record stronger occupancy in its home market.
The film has been released across multiple Indian languages, giving it a broad theatrical footprint beyond the Kannada market. BookMyShow lists Kannada, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and other language versions, with formats including IMAX and 4DX.
What the Day 4 number means
The Saturday performance is being watched closely because the first weekend is important for determining whether the film can sustain its initial momentum.
At ₹180.08 crore net in India’s live tracking, Toxic has already moved well beyond the ₹150 crore domestic milestone. Its final Saturday figure will provide a clearer picture of how much the film has recovered during the weekend after the sizeable post-opening-day drop.
The film had also crossed ₹200 crore worldwide by the end of Day 3 in Sacnilk’s tracking, which reported a worldwide gross of ₹221.35 crore at that stage.
However, worldwide figures from different trackers can also vary, so the final global total should be considered separately from the live India net number.
Yash returns with a large-scale gangster drama
Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups marks Yash’s return to cinemas following the success of the KGF films. The story is set in Goa during the period surrounding the region’s transition away from Portuguese rule and follows Raya as he navigates crime, power, loyalty and violence.
Geetu Mohandas directs the film, while Yash is also credited as a producer. The CBFC record names Yash and Venkat K. Narayana as producers.
The film has generated a mixed response from audiences and critics despite its strong initial theatrical business. Recent coverage has also included discussion around the film’s creative direction and its violent content, although those debates have not prevented it from maintaining a sizeable box-office run in its opening days.
For now, the key number remains provisional: ₹180.08 crore net in India after four days, according to Sacnilk’s 8:03 p.m. live update. The final Saturday collection, once available, will determine the film’s completed four-day total.
