Sinha also questioned the image of the Bhojpuri industry and argued that established stars carry responsibility because their behaviour can affect how the wider industry is perceived.

The remarks have since been interpreted by social-media users and some entertainment publications as a reference to Pawan Singh. Aaj Tak reported the clip under a headline directly connecting the comments to Singh, while ABP News was more cautious and noted that Sinha had not clarified whom she was referring to.
